🎸 Lesson 3:

The Most Important Guitar Skill

Okay, some people might not agree with this topic…

But the single most important skill we need in order to master our instruments is…

HABIT!

Memory plays a huge part in learning an instrument. And whether we believe we have a good memory or not, the biggest hack is to keep things consistent.

The more we can stick with the habit, the more chords and concepts we’ll be able to remember. And next time we sit down to practice we won’t have to backtrack. And by default, the more we remember the more fun we’ll have and the more concepts we can add on! (If we practice speaking a language more often, the more sense it makes.)

It’s a total feedback loop!

Now, don’t stress about having a perfect consistent practice routine by next week. Just work to build over the next 2 months. After 2 months have gone by, ask yourself if things are working, or if there’s something we could change to make practice easier.

If you need an accountability partner please reach out! Keep the habit going, and your future guitar-playing self will thank you!

Onward to the next lesson!
